Business Block - Procrastination

Updated: Feb 13

When you’re fleshing out a dream, breaking down a goal, bringing an idea to plan, that’s for me, when procrastination kicks in. Strategies and step-by-step plans just don’t entice me like ideas and goals do.

When I desire to give my thoughts and action time to my goals, discipline comes naturally. But when desire runs out and goals must be pinned down it is time to determine how to move from desire to reality, I have to fight the inclination to procrastinate. Discipline doesn’t kick in naturally this time. Instead, I spend too much time distracted from my purpose, wasting time and worrying.

Procrastination sets in when I’m mentally pre-occupied with stress and work life and physically pre-occupied. Working at a desk, sitting with poor posture and #emf electromagnetic frequencies, my first instinct after dinner or during spare time is definitely not to get back to my computer. Yet detriment to one’s health has never seemed to deter us humans from doing the things we know we shouldn’t.

You don’t always have to have desire AND discipline; you just need one when the other fails.

It takes discipline to carve out the time to focus on the not-so-fun entrepreneurial business responsibilities. Unless you’re a details business minded first kind of person, then you’re full with desire and need discipline in the area of ideas and growth.

Let us know how you kick procrastination and get motivated.
