At Hawkeye Hill, our vision statement ultimately came from a #braindump and was distilled from our vision list below. Here's our vision sentence:
To join with the revolutionary urban farm movement to reimagine our food supply chain and strengthen our community resiliency.
Here is our vision list:
To regenerate the soil, forests + riverways around our town
To slow erosion and strengthen the eroding forest & hill
To reduce toxins that flow down the hill into the river
To promote healing with whole plants & essential oils
To educate and spread the message of farming as a soul reward
To offer the opportunity for learning in generational interaction and education
To minimize the environmental impact of imported food
To maximize the benefits of the evolutionary relationship between food and fork
To find happiness in the expressing of oneself through nature's canvas
To uphold the values of the earth and to work in symbiosis with nature
To connect with humanity through the dirt we all share
To foster the skills in those who are driven by these collective desires
Our vision is expanded and inspired by our broader neighbourhood full of Leaders, Educators, Homesteaders and Farmers (including honey, maple syrup, poultry & eggs, quail & other rare birds), Herbalists and Health Professionals, Successful Business Owners, Carpenters and Construction Experts.
